These bolts and nuts are massive and heavy duty. They are made of high strength carbon steel. One bolt with two nuts weighs approximately 3.3 lbs. The bolt measure approximately
8-3/4” in length, and
1-1/8” in diameter.
They are black powder coated and could be used for a variety of ornamental harware construction of timber wood frame homes. The give an oversized rustic hardware look to post & beam construction, and I imagine they could be used to attach wood to concrete as well. The possibilities are endless!
Originally these bolts were manufactured for the oil & gas industry, and are designed for extreme pressures. The h
igh strength carbon steel has a maximum yield strength of 105,000 PSI and minimum tensile strength of 125,000 PSI. Below are some additional technical specifications from the manufacturer.
